Goal A - Objective 1
Develop cross-disciplinary ag-tech curricula models to strengthen agrisciences and technology foundations while focusing on service and responding to needs of primary stakeholders.

Action Steps:

  • Create a premier, web-based clearinghouse of courses, curricula, models, career cluster information, and discussion forums identified as useful to secondary and postsecondary agricultural science and technology education teachers, students, and industry partners.
  • Maintain a premier, functional, web-based clearinghouse of courses, curricula, models, career cluster information, and discussion forums identified as useful to secondary and postsecondary agricultural science and technology education teachers, students, and industry partners.
  • Produce national list of industry training partners to approach for support and funding of curriculum and training

Action Steps:

  • Develop model for colleges to identify the stakeholders and their needs
  • Identify and collaborate in development of models that relate to career clusters for agriculture, food, and natural resources
  • Identify and develop industry partners for supporting and funding curriculum and training
  • Report on progress of collaborative efforts with career clusters for agriculture, food, and natural resources
  • Report on seamless pilot program

Courses/modules designed or enhanced with appropriate science, math or technical competencies, and cross referencing with national standards

Action Steps:

  • Review courses/modules alignment to state or national standards
  • Identify related licensing standards or certifications

Goal C - Objective 1
Create strong seamless relationships between secondary and postsecondary institutions and related businesses and industries

Action Steps:

  • Initiate pilot programs that have seamless transitions from middle school thru career entry and advancement in that career, higher education, and life-long learning
  • Post prototype from Oregon on web page
  • Determine progress of Tennessee prototype
  • Search for industry prototypes
